Seika Studio
Art and Design Studio based in Hong Kong
Seika Studio (the “Studio”) is an art and design studio that has been established since 2017. The theme of our creation is mostly about animals and plants, scenery as well as things happening around us. We believe nature is a great source of inspiration and through our artworks, we hope to offer a moment of relaxation for people to admire the beauty of the mother nature.
"Seika" is a japaense word, which means "blue and white porcelain" in English. We are a huge fan of this ancient craftmanship and we try to incorporate the elments of it into our artwork. Not only the colour combination of blue and white has been utilized in some of our artwork series, but we have also extract traditional Chinese painting elements and techniques (such as composition, negative space, and so on) from the blue and white porcelain and incorporate them into our artworks.
We have been working closely with local NGOs and local authorities to raise public awareness towards environmental and ecological issues happening in the city. Our previous include WWF, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Maritime Museum, Hong Kong Bird Watching Society, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and so on.
